The Wales head coach says England's squad depth is remarkable that a boxing promoter would not match them with the Welsh team.

Bellamy's men meet England in a friendly at Wembley on Thursday before their important World Cup qualifier against Belgium next Monday.

National team coach Tuchel has omitted the such as Jude Bellingham, Phil Foden and Jack Grealish from his squad for the Wales friendly and their World Cup qualifier against Latvia.

"England have a incredible squad, similar to the French," the coach remarked.

"England have a market valuation of 1.4 billion pounds, ours is 170 million. Were you a fight promoter, you wouldn't match us up. That wouldn't be permitted."

Bellamy says making sure the Welsh team can face the star-studded opponents is a "key motivation".

Bellamy continued: "We do not rely on values, but the simple fact is they have more than one team. They possess two, three, four and France and others are similarly stacked. England have loads of top talents and that's the honest truth."

"One right-back was ruled out with injury the recently and there are 24 more to go! They've got 60-odd players. I wish Wales to be well-equipped like them."

The neighbouring countries last faced each other at the 2022 tournament in the Middle East, when the English emerged as easy victors in a fixture before the previous England team reached the last eight.

The new manager is Thomas Tuchel, a Champions League and world club champion at Chelsea who has won league championships in France and his native Germany.

Bellamy was previously an coach at the Belgian side and the English club to Vincent Kompany, who succeeded Tuchel at the German giants.

"He's an outstanding coach - his achievements is proven," he noted.

"I have some sort of insight because the team he departed I know individuals who have gone in there. I get a glimpse there of how he works and it's very impressive. "

"His tactical detail is top level and I aimed to be facing such a challenge - see how you're going to adapt because he will. I can learn from that. I aspire to get to that level."
